Whilst I have grown up eating milk/doodh pedas that my grandma used to make, I always look out for inspiration to add a spin on them.
This recipe was tried and modified after an epic fail (yes I know, I know, that wasn’t expected), but I would like to own up my mistakes!
So now presenting to you my tried and tested yummy Mango Peda ☺
Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 and 1/4 cups Milk powder
- 3/4 cup mango puree / pulp
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 2 teaspoons cardamom powder
- Crushed almonds or pistachios for garnishing (optional)
Method
In a non stick pan, heat the butter gently until it melts.
Add the mango puree and let it cook for a few minutes.
Stir in the milk powder, condensed milk and cardamom powder.
Keep stirring on a low heat until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
Turn of the heat and let it cool for 10 minutes.
Use a mould to shape the pedas. Alternatively, roll into balls and garnish with the almonds or pistachios.
